What a difference a year makes..

Hats off to Fraser Russell, Macphee and all the rest. They are super organizers and very professional. That's my observations from watching the Caribous the past two years. They are great $$$ managers. Not always looking over their shoulders wondering where the next $$ is coming from. My understanging is that the Caribous requested in to the Allan Cup. Because others didn't or did not have the $$$$ to do likewise shouldn't diminish what they have achieved. As for players from the Ceebees and a back up goalie, I'm sure all that was done within the rules as laid down by Hockey Canada and the Allan Cup. I think that's called a "level playing field", maybe a term not quite understood in these parts.

No it's not the same as back in the old days and no C'ville didn't win a playoff series this year. They were the only team in Atlantic Canada(I stand to be corrected) who requested in to the Allan Cup format. People can read into that whatever they like. It was there for anybody else, but not many others had the appetite for it given that most had a hard time staying afloat in the NL senior league and I would dare say some are still trying to figure out how to pay this year's bills, never mind next year or any long term vision of where they want to take their team.
