It's still only a game folks. Yes things have changed with the new league, bringing in players from outside the province and even flying in coaches but I'd take the old ways using all locals any day. Do you think the problems of where the Herder will be played and revenue sharing would be the news topic of the week if teams didn't need all this money to pay and transport players from outside? I dont and dont say local players are being paid more than inports because they'd have to be nuts to stand back and watch inports getting the big bucks and the locals in some cases better players than whats coming jn getting peanuts. This league will fold within a few years and it will be caused directly or indirectly by the paying of these players. Then there's the salary cap -- another joke.
Go back to all local players and make the teams the pride of their community and the true hockey fans of the island will come out again to fill the stands.

So was the SWM other years especially when the Breakers came but now local players like Crosby, Brown, and Dawe are gone support has dropped. Theres alot more of these players that have retired or have been dropped to make room for outside the province players that carried their own fans. The local player is gone and in some cases his family and friends went with them. Yes it's different for the west coast teams because it's been that way out there forever. Maybe in time it will catch on here, we'll have to wait and see.

The story of this league is that I am told there less than 500 paid fans today at the Royals game at the Pepsi Centre . The fact that it was a Sunday afternoon game is irrelevant. The league stands or falls on the number of paid customers. The Blades , the Royals and the CeeBees all have a " paid customer" problem. That is three of the five teams. Of the other two teams one doesn't want to do revenue sharing.

another false statement about revenue sharing, but then look where its coming from ... did you even bother to sit down with the teams in the NSHL & see where they stand on this??? or is this another EDICT from above ?? stay tuned for the same old garbage.....Hockey Eyes wrote:The story of this league is that I am told there less than 500 paid fans today at the Royals game at the Pepsi Centre .
