welcome back tomcod glad your feeling better .
I'll take a stab at this one. The biggest issue IMO of not having the opportunity to host herder games in GFW is the very real possibility of loosing a large portion of two very important revenue sources. The first is the potential lost of some sponsors. Dispute the merits of that if you will, but I can assure you that there are quite a few sponsors who are not happy about this and are questioning their support going forward. I should know as I work for one of those unhappy sponsors. Second, and most importantly I believe, is lost of holding seat sales. For those unfamiliar with this, it is not to be confused with season tickets. It is simply a fee paid to have your seat(s) held to be purchased prior to going on sale to the public. You still have to buy your tickets like everyone else. This arose from fans having to wait in line-ups for hours to get play off tickets. A system was put in place where fans could pick which seat(s) they would like to sit in for the season and pay a fee to have them held for pick up/purchase thus avoiding long line-ups of people trying to pick seats before every game. The real value in this service is it guarantees you will get tickets for the playoffs when demand is highest and the games matter most. Fans simply will not pay for this service for one round of playoffs. Now before anyone jumps on me,fans know the Cats may only play one round anyway, but now they know IF they move on you will have to go somewhere else to watch them. Again, you can debate whether or not this makes any sense but it works here and is a very, very important revenue source for the Cats. I know fans from other teams don't really understand(& to a certain extent don't really care) but all the Cats are doing is fighting for survival. A fight I feel they won't win.newfie35n wrote:The question I have is that, there been alot of Cat fans on here saying that if they don't play the herder in GFW the team will not make it to next year. Why is that???

you make some VERY GOOD POINTS.. and I'm glad someone has finally brought to issue of the cats holding seats into the debate... from my point of view - you are very correct in the fact that the holding seat revenue is the main reason for this ongoing fight.hooligan wrote:I'll take a stab at this one. There's the problem the cats fans are gettin robbed on the holding seats and 14 dollars for a ticket, make no wonder they can't get no one to travel.
