horrible officiating with two fast hockey teams best team won but all leftnthe game talking about the refs. not good for a semi pro league. we need semi pro officials. those guys were homers and it was obvious
Never thought I'd say this, but, after what I saw last night, I say our refs in central must be among the best in this league. Maybe they should use their PeeWee refs today and give the Atom refs from last night a break. The teams in this league should not have to play through this crap and the fans should not have to watch it. Not only the referees, but the linesmen also left much to be desired...from missed offside calls to biased face-off activity. The 2 linesmen last night must have been Keith Delaney's biggest fans. Disgusting. The CeeBees probably would have won the game on their own steam. They also didn't need the horrible officiating that was displayed last night. Something should be done to address this issue. If it means flying in officials and charging more for admission, then so be it. Just aweful!
Yes bye, the central refs best in the league......you can honestly say that after the display in Gander last weekend by Rice and the other three imposters in stripes. Yes, the officiating in this league in brutal......and the linesman are just as bad, not sure if it is biased or if the caliber of play is too fast. Colin Abbott was in Clarenville last night and he is the best I have seen this year......now the other ref was little Timbit and he is was he is........pitiful. the number of quality officials are slim so i ask why the hell the league would us a 2 official system. Simply the refs are not good enough to do it properly. Of course 1 ref will miss a few things but at least he can at least control the game and players can adjust to him. with 2 reds especially not so great ones for example refs 1 lets player a away with minor hook and graab on player b. player b concludes this amount of hooking is allowed so he does it in front of ref 2 and gets a pentaly. this causes confusion among players. do you think thes refs get together and discuss how the games are goin to be reffed or to get on the same page? highly doubt it. they show up and get their paycheck just like alot of the players do. they dont care about getting better its just a bit of pocket money for them on the weekends. i dont know the solutionto solve this alltogether but IMO 1 REF system worked much better. yes calls were missed but at least it wasnt a game of who hs the best powerplay. then youcould at least get the best if the worst instead of complete garbage
I wonder what HNL are doing to graduate these officials from the midget/junior level to the NLSHL / AESHL? With a Referee-in-Chief position on the board you would think they are doing something. If you search the HNL website you'll see nothing on development for officials. It's all about safety, rules, and development of players. Maybe this is the problem.
