The issue is that Hr. Grace is a town of less than 4,000 people and even though the stadium will be funded 80 - 20 by the province it is still like $3M for Hr. Grace to borrow. There is some opposition from within council as it will affect their borrowing in the future for capital works. There was some talk of sharing the cost with Carbonear but that seems to have fallen off the rocks as well.

The CeeBees lineup is pretty stacked right now and they should have defeated Clarenville last night who had some key players out. Everybody is getting frustrated as the team has 2 wins and 7 losses in the last nine games. Having said that Crocker has to be the bigger man when heckled by the fans. What was he going to do if the old guy accepted his challenge and came down to the gate?? Crocker has a lot of experience and has been trying to improve the team through trades but the team seems to be lacking leadership. Keith Delaney is the captain because of his experience and playing ability but is not a leader on the ice like Chris Bartlett was. You don't see him communicating in any way with the other players. I am not a coach and I know some coaches don't worry about matching lines and Crocker is clearly one of them. They often get outmatched in their own rink as he does not wait for the opposing team to change first. And since I seem to be venting as well, do the CeeBees have a defensive coach? A defenseman can make a bonehead play and come to the bench and nobody even looks at them. The team is finished now for the Christmas break and I think they need to do some soul searching. To much complacency on the team and on the bench. Crocker should have saved his profanity for the dressing room and chewed out a few players.

Joe. Maybe you should tell us what the fan said before we jump to conclusions.

I am not 100% certain on what the fan said and I don't want to speculate or say something I think he said.I don't even know everything that Crocker said but the few quotes I gave in the previous post were some that I heard for sure.

Fact is, much like everything else associated with hockey, people will have their own opinions on whether this was a big deal or not. I agree with what Hockey said in that the coaches should have said nothing and left the ice. One thing I do believe; If it were a bous coach that had a similar exchange with a fan of the Ceebees, Geno and company would be fielding an awful lot of questions and criticism on here today.

I agree with you 100% on the leadership role that is needed for the captain of this team...........................but it is unfair to expect Delaney or any other player on the ceebee's roster to fill the shoes of Chris Bartlett..............That man was a true leader on the ice in the dressing room ................whatever was needed of him he gave.................no player on the ceebees or in this league right now gonna fill them shoes in my opinion................I do agree with you that Dalton would be a good choice................Daniel Sparkes is another heart and soul type of player that would make a great captain for this team............................

What did Chris Bartlett do in dressing room that K.Delaney does not do?????? I guess the management on Cee Bees doesn"t agree that Dalton or D.Sparkes could wear the "C". Is it true that K.Delaney played with an injured foot this past weekend????? Not surprised!!!!!!!! Wasn't it a few years ago while wearing a knee brace in a game 7 he got the winning goal which advanced the Cee Bees into the herder?????? That my friend is a TRUE LEADER!!!!!

It is obvious that ceebee management does not agree with dalton or sparkes WEARING THE "C" which is why we are arguing the fact here.................................There is nobody denying the on ice abilities of keith Delaney ........................I witnessed the very game that you speak of with Delaney wearing the knee brace against the southern shore breakers in game 7 a few years back...............but it takes more than on ice abilities to be a leader of a hockey team...............I am not taking anything away from Keith Delaney in saying that either because i know that Keith is a great player and a great person as well............But i do respect your opinion on the matter...............you are entitled to yours just as i am entitled to mine.....................

Anybody know the whereabouts of Chris Bartlett these days, I know that he was coaching the jr celtics a few yrs back. I think that he would make an ideal coach for the ceebee if they ever decide to let crocker go of if chris was interested in the position.
