for all of your accomplishments, you're now a thug for hire
you use your stick to hack and slash, wield it like an axe
while aiming to decapitate all those pesky Cats

Come on Mr. Langdon, when will you call it quits
all of your shenanigans have given hockey fans the fits
you instigate, intimidate, players and officials too
it's time to hang 'em up, go hunt some legal Caribou

Why would he retire, when he still can play the game,
If the refs would only let him play, most all their calls are lame,
The young guys love to yap at him but none will take the test,
There's only one thing more he wants, the Herder back out West.

So when you go down to the rink, to boo big twenty-four,
Remember all the things he's done, you just might see him score,
He may be in his twilight years, but he gives his heart and soul,
There's no one else who'll make Top Ten, at forty-two years old.
omg are you serious? "if the refs would only let him play" ? the western refs turn a blind eye to a lot of his dirty plays. I don't care if he retires or not, but his hot head and running the team himself is the reason that executives of Western stepped down.
Welcome aboard AbbeyChase. And what team may I ask do you support? I accept your criticism of my "post" but be prepared to be criticized yourself when the occasion arises, and it will.
I will add that you're not the first to make those points, there are numerous posters on here who feel the same way although I'm not one of them.
Look forward to your future contributions.

Twenty five years ago in Saskatchewan, a similar situation arose with a former NHL fighter and tough guy who retired from the minor leagues and wanted to come back to his hometown and play with the local senior team.

In fact, it was with deep reluctance the league allowed him to play because of the misgivings of some executive members that this person was going to be a problem and as it turned out, he quickly became a problem.

This former player n was a cancer in the dressing room, continously instigated fights with other players, and threatened the ref and linesmen on a regular basis. The league eventually had enough problems and told him that he would no longer be welcome in the league. This is the story of a nobody who did not play long in the NHL and found his local senior career over before it began. Despite the fact that he played in the NHL before, this did not save him from explusion.

Couldn't agree more Caribou Herder.... people are so fixated because it's Langdon. I personally didn't think it was a penalty.... neither did Langer, so he got pissed off and kicked out. Big deal

My original post had nothing to do with him being upset at the penalty call. But He wanted to get kicked out of that game. he didn't want to be there so he kept hitting to glass every 3 or 4 seconds till the ref tossed him out. If your a leader on a team, and he is, then you don't just check out of a game like that just cause you don't feel like playing. Then to kick back and have a beer while his team is fighting to get back in the game is sad.

If this was some other player nothing would have been said. He didn't shoot someone . He only got kicked out of a hockey game, big deal. All I got to say some people must be really bored.

But thats my point Rusty, he isn't just some other player. When the royals are talked about, he's the name being mentioned the most. But I can see that my point is not getting through, so go back to your mindless team hating banter that usually happens on this site.

No big deal? REALLY? ? What kind of message does that send to the kids? You know...those kids that watch these games, play minor hockey and imitate the actions of us adults. Yeah, Langer is a GREAT role model  As a former NHLer he should hold himself to a higher standard than most, but he continues to display conduct unbecoming of a professional athlete with his immature tirades and pugilistic approach to the game. It's sad, really, that this is how senior hockey will remember him long after his career is over.
If at first you don't succeed....PUCKIT!
