I think Doug O'Brien was a big difference this weekend as well.
Today was the first time i have seen this team with a full defensive group.
How about Ray Dalton with two HUGE goals this weekend.

From listening to the games o'brien was a huge factor with his ability to rush the puck on the offensive side and his abilities to shut down players on the defensive side.AESHL wrote:I think Doug O'Brien was a big difference this weekend as well.

Pay no attention to the hometown GFW announcers on the audiocast. If you were at the game you would have seen a significant amount of slashing and hacking by Power and Graham which wasn't called. Power chased Theriault around the rink all game trying to get him off his game to no avail.evanpenton wrote:Is it just me but it seems like there are a lot of cases where the announcers are saying things like " Therriault slashes Brennan across the Ankles and no penalty, Nicholas gets checked in front of the net, no call, Obrien takes the cats stick and shoots it down the ice....No unsportsmanlike penalty...??
The hit on Gallant looked bad but as he was helped off the ice. He then had a speedy recovery and only missed a couple of shifts. He then selfishly started a fight with Delaney who fared very well against the bigger Gallant. I say selfishly as you don't want to go to overtime with your best defenseman in the showers. The CeeBees will take that trade any day of the week.
Kudos to Dalton for another OT goal. This guy has heart.

Not bad for a guy who had it all packed in until the CB`s fired their coach , which by the way was the problem with them all year .. Now they are playing like the team we all know they are.. Good on them

To listen to the game I believe you have to go to the Cateracts website because its the Cateracts team web/audiocast. The boys do a great job bringing the game to fans who can make it but they are Cateracts announcers and thus there has to be some bias. Make no mistake, there were missed penalties in this game but for both teams.evanpenton wrote:Is it just me but it seems like there are a lot of cases where the announcers are saying things like " Therriault slashes Brennan across the Ankles and no penalty, Nicholas gets checked in front of the net, no call, Obrien takes the cats stick and shoots it down the ice....No unsportsmanlike penalty...??

Just a few of my thoughts on the actual hockey this weekend:
Both games could have gone either way and both goalies put on some display.
The Ceebees were in the Cats head's from the puck drop last night and Im not sure why? The Cats didn't play their style this weekend.
Gallant made a very selfish decision in dropping the gloves.
From top to bottom I think the difference was the Ceebees wanted it more. In Overtime today the Cats seemed satisfied to sit and wait for they're chance while the Ceebees went for it. This one is far from over and it'll be a battle next weekend.
