Spoke to Benny this morning and he is resigning from the Cats executive. Will be a big loss here. We too often criticize the people who give all their time and effort so we as fans can just walk up, buy our ticket and enjoy this great game that we love. From me Benny, Thanks for all the hours that you have given so I could enjoy my little seat in the back row. Hope you reconsider but if not, A big Thank-you!!!! :ymapplause: :ymapplause: :-bd

I'll reiterate that point. a dedicated volunteer to the cats family and a major loss to the exec if benny has "hung up his skates" so to say. If you think that yours and all the execs hours of dedication aren't appreciated by us hardcores then you are wrong. hope to see you back in the fall.

If you are resigning Benny this will indeed be a huge loss to the Cats organization. Personally I have had a great relationship with you for years now and it is a sad day to see you go. One of the most cooperative guys around Senior Hockey circles.
Many Thankls

If this is true then its a big loss for the Cats! I know how much time and effort you put in Benny and you will certainly be hard to replace. Ive always thought u were easy to work with and we have had some great conversations! Now you can go to the games and actually watch and enjoy!

Good luck to ya Benny

Thanks everyone for your kind words... I really appreciate it.. It was a decision that i made a couple of months ago, but it wasn't an easy one. I have a passion for the game of hockey, which i have been involved with for over 35 yrs as a player, Coach, Techinal Director, executive member, Trainer, and for a short while...a referee. I feel if you have a passion for something you give it all you have.... i guess thats my make up.
I have met some Great people over the past 10 yrs who have a great knowledge of the geame and a passion for the Cataracts or their respective teams in Senior hockey. People like Stan Coffin, Barry Manuel , Dave Canning and Paul Glavine of the Cataracts... Todd Brett, Derek Mcphee and my good friend Ivan Hapgood of the Caribous... who gave of there time as i have.. with nothing coming in return but the satifaction of being able to give back to there commnity and to the game they all love... The Cataracts and the Caribous have had a great rivalry on the ice and with the fans on this forum... but i can tell you this much.. there is a great amount of respect for each team when you talk about there executives.

But i would be a fool if i did'nt thank the most important person in my life, who gave me the opportunity to give my time so freely.. My Wife Shelley...She put up with me getting off work... and going directly to Cats Bingo on Tuedsays... for those of you that are interested...lol...meeting, practices, games , road trips, meal preperations.. hours and hours of phone calls with players, fans and other executive members. She has alot of patience to put up with that.. and for that i thank you publicly.

I am looking forward to being able to sit in my seat and cheer on my favorite team.
To the 2013-2014 Grandfalls Windsor Cataracts... I wish you great success both on and off the ice.

GO CATS GO!!!

Sorry to see you leave,Benny! You were/are a tremendous asset to the Cats organization and you will be greatly missed by them. Any posts you made on this site were always honest and objective and there was never any bias shown by you. Always respectful and informative. Everybody needs a break from this type of volunteer work after so many years of sacrifice and this Cats fan respects your decision to do so. Thanks for all the selfless hours of community work. Enjoy just being a fan like me and Bo!! ;-) ;-)
If at first you don't succeed....PUCKIT!
