Even if the shore wins their league are there enough Fans and Sullivans down the shore to turn a mile one profit?

Yes dagooch, we all know that it's not the population from St. John's that supports the venues.

Even for Ice Caps games, you would be surprised just how many people from 'outside the overpass' that keeps it going.

Jack and Joe could be very surprised with the fan attendance on this Herder.

Another idiotic move by a totally incompetent group of executives who are ruining senior hockey in this province. Jack, Joe and Gary are so hell bend on having the Herder Trophy(HOLY GRAIL) competed for at the Mile One (MECCA) that they are willing to destroy the very league that has made these guys relevant. The present incarnation of senior hockey is skating on thin ice thanks to HNL's questionable decisions over the past several years. It's painfully obvious that J,J,and G,as I will call them, want the Herder trophy in the hands of teams on the Avalon. While it perhaps may not happen this year, conditional to what other fiendish tricks these guys have up their sleeves, it is coming soon! This most recent plan to bolster an AESHL team against the CWSHL champion is the first step in that direction. They've tried every possible way to bend, break and destroy senior hockey west of the overpass. As a fan I'm tired of the bull$hit and the politics created by hockey's governing body. I've lost interest in the game because of the shallow, narrow minded thinking of people who are ruining this game instead of trying to grow it. It's becoming more of a farce with each passing season.
If at first you don't succeed....PUCKIT!

Why is it okay for the CWSHL champ to bolster its lineup so it can compete in the Allan Cup but it is wrong for the AESHL to bolster its lineup so it compete in the Herder? I don't understand the distinction .

There are some players there that are over 60th hikkkk man there are some up to 70 , there should give them a good game , if you want they can play for the Herder , tell Jack and the rest of his bean stocks

I wish someone would answer the question. The people running the Allan Cup which was a quickly dying enterprise did everything in the world to keep us NL)in it including letting us send essentially an all star team so we could compete. Why wouldn't HNL do the same to keep the Herder a provincial thing which is what they want. I know the east isn't nearly as good as the west . They all play for free in the east but letting them play for the Herder isn't hurting anything. For instance if it is in Corner Brook they will draw more fans than they did today wouldn't they? .

Hey hockey eyes you said it you just dont understand... the mainland teams competeing for the allan cup can pick their team from all over canada no such restrictions as imports... while here in NL we are limited to a few imports...They let NL pick up strenghtening players so we can be competitive because of the HNL rules concerning imports ...

Oh and by the way the NCWHL have been invited to play the AESHL for the Herder.. If & when the teams are told the terms of the herder playoff ( financial & whatever ) if it goes to a vote & the NCWHL turns down the format ( democratic society ) that is their right .. The herder is HNLS tournament so if the invitation is turned down Hnl will have to go back to the drawing board ,JMO... stay tuned...
