Have you actually bothered to find out if the Cataracts have approached any of the players on that team? I suspect not. I was told by an exec member last week that a number of these players have in fact been asked but to date there has been no confirmation from any of them. The Exploits Blades play in a no-checking league and the play (and travel commitments) is very different from Senior hockey. Most of the players are there for a reason. Not nearly as simple as you make it seem. There are not "lots of bodies around" who are willing to play. Your final comment is both untrue and unfair. If there were any locals or even Newfoundlanders available there wouldn't be the need to bring in imports.....but such a need does in fact exist.newfiegoalie wrote:superfan wrote:How many fans were at the Torbay game Hockey Eyes ,
Why do you and tomcod resort to attacks as as opposed to actually answering peoples counter arguments? They counter argue your point then you guys especially tomcod just start attacking the person and calling them stupid. You give no sensible arguement other than "more imports needed" and "you're out to lunch". Explain exactly why those comments are out to lunch. Do you have a way to fund these extra imports in a league barely staying a float?
And yes people are playing hockey in the east because they love the game. What other reason is there? there may be half a dozen gettin a little somethin somethin but the majority are not. yet they give up their weekends to play. What other reason can there be other than they want to play hockey.
But you go on ahead attacking these people with your EXTREMELY biased views with absolutely nothing to back it up.
As for all this catarats got no players. Go look at the exploits blades rec team. easlily fill the bottom lines with Mills,Inder, Bishop. etc...
Theres lots of bodies around but it seems if you didnt play on the mainland then your not good enough
... MORE IMPORTS NEEDED BIG TIME !!! ...

A minimum of SIX imports per team is required .Regardless of what the St. Johns rec hockey league has to say.
Half doz imports, half dozen beer, $10.00 worth of 50/50 tickets.........stadiums would be blocked. St.John's rec league - half dozen fans, no problems getting good parking, no line ups for fries ......perfect. !!!
STICK IT !!!!!!
