Salvis had 5 points last weekend in 2 games which is pretty good production. However, Watson had zero points and Macdonald also zero points. If the imports you bring in are not going to produce just find more locals. What a waste! Even Gillis managed to get a point!

I think it`s hard to gauge a player and ability after one weekend of play. Especially for a d-man. I didn't see the games but would not be surprised if MacDonald was a little hesitant, based on the simple fact of trying to adjust and fit in. He`s not familiar with his team and less familiar with the Bous forwards. Hard to defend against a team like that. Maybe he was more focused on no being a defensive liability more then producing offensively. Just a thought. He may be a different player this weekend......

Just a few stats to compare of some pretty good NHL`ers.........

- Jakob Voracek - 13 games: 0 goals
- Ryan Getzlaf - 12 games: 0 goals
- Cory Perry - 12 games: 1 goal
- Marion Gabrik - 13 games: 1 goal
- Brad Richards - 6 games: 0 goals

That`s a combined 2 goals in 56 games played by a bunch of offensive all-stars !!! No doubt they will all get it started soon, but it`s just an example of how sometimes the puck just don`t go in for ya. I`m willing to bet that this group are playing better than their goal production indicates......or will very soon.
I agree with your assessment Bottom Line and when it comes to MacDonald I think I was more concerned about the number of goals against not just his offensive ability. Also, this is not the NHL with an 82 game schedule so I would hope that these imports, especially Watson who played in the ECHL for a number of years would be ready to go and produce at some level right from the start. Not necessarily goals but setting up a few would help. Anyway it will be a long season for these guys regardless and the main reason is the lack of players replacing the talented guys they lost plus locals who cannot commit on a regular basis. JMO
that's why the reduction of the imports is looming large.at least for the most part they would commit to be there every weekend.some of the locals seem to have to work weekends which is understood thus not being able to make games.wait till guys start getting hurt, the benches will become short pretty fast.short benches will piss off fans.not good for the league.

Obviously this is NOT the NHL... Just saying that maybe fans should be a little patient and not throw the team under the bus after one game. Many athletes in all sports have good starts and not so good starts.....it happens. But it don't mean that they are not good. Just give it a few games, see if they gel at all. After all, everyone makes the playoffs, so it`s really a 20 game pre season...

ha ha! I guess you are right about the preseason comment. The problem I have with that is if the league is going to survive they need fans in the seats but they will not come out to watch rec hockey or a team that cannot ice a full line up weekend after weekend.

Last year i think the Royals were the only team to have all there imports in for the games and it showedin the standings and half decent crowds. Only 13 bucks to get in, maybe cheapest in the league.
