What about a crossover from the AESHL ... for 1 weekend.
Each CWSHL team play 1 AESHL team at home & vice versa.
Would that spark more interest?

Not sure how it would impact the Herder.
If we look at MLB, they have AL & NL teams playing one another throughout the season. Do something like that. Still counts towards points etc but each league still operates independently. Plus, it gives both leagues an opportunity to hype the Herder that much more - they get to see some of the talent in both leagues.

I would.123 wrote:True, but really who would want to see the Cats pound the CeeBees 25-1.

Joking aside I think an interlocking type thing could be a good idea. Spark some interest and rivalry between East and West aside from a Herder series. But the skill level of the AESHL would definitely have to come up.
It's a shame that senior hockey doesn't get much media attention on NTV or CBC. I think it would be great to see a sports recap on the Sunday evening news.
On a side note: I've always thought it would be fun to take an 'all start' team of sorts to play against the IceCaps and see how well they would do.

Transplanted from GFW to St. John's.

I think that the CWSHL got to go with the last place team not making the playoffs , like someone said on here ,first place team gets a bye ,second and third play off in a best out of 5 or7 if lots of time .. I know that the reason why all teams make the playoffs is because of financial reasons but would I be out to lunch if I said that in some way the team that didn`t make the playoffs get a cut in the gates of the playoffs , just saying .. Also the AESHL teams are improving and in a couple of years with both leagues playing off for the Herder it will help both leagues .Some people wants to see the CWSHL fold but it will ruin hockey outside the overpass for sure . once gone it will take years to come back and that would be sad . I think that there are enough players around for both leagues and if they did cut out the imports perhaps it would help the teams financially . Yes it would make the league a bit weaker but we would have hockey to watch and in a couple of years we would now know the difference ..As for paying players , will who in St Johns would want to travel to Corner Brook one weekend and then to GFW the next and not get something for it
