Bussey - Gill - Brennan
McGuirk
Dalley
Cole

Etc
Those top 2 lines are very deep and potent, cats will be very dangerous with regards there top 6! Then a bottom 6 with speed and youth.

Interesting thing about the draft. Did Short have to he released when he signed a standard ECHL contract to play with the Growlers? He wasn't an emergency replacement player like AJ. Does it have anything to do with it being considered pro hockey and therefore they didn't have to release him?

Yes , a pro player can play straight into our Senior hockey from pro.
Rob Hennigar and Cam Fergus who played a few years ago for the Cats are examples. Rob Hennigar played in The American Hockey League for a few years just before he came to GFW. He played in Elite European League hockey the winter before he came to GFW, and was the leading scorer in the Italian "A" League.
Fergus is a similar example.
The only problem now, is that IMPORTS, many of them being former pros , as they are designated as "non-NLers" are no longer allowed to play in NL , after HNL passed a Rule banning imports from playing in our central and western regions... Now, if there is an actual NLer who may have been a former pro, and has moved back to NL to live, (can't have moved back for the purpose of being paid to play hockey), then if that player puts his name in a Draft he is eligible to play.
(St.John's teams in the now defunct AESHL never did have imports, since they didn't allow players to be paid.)

I get that a player can come straight from pro, many have done it, especially imports. My real question is did the Cats have to release Short to play with the Growlers? If they did shouldn't he have had to enter the draft instead of being able to just go right back with the Cats? Pender entered the draft while playing in the ECHL for example, he couldn't just choose which team he wanted to play for.
