GO SENIOR HOCKEY GO !!!!!!!!!!! :)
Left those 2 parts in... The first point, excellent. I posted this topic to rouse how the team's were doing. I realize though that the only "active" people on this forum now for the most part are Bous or Cats fans, so that tends to be the biggest part of discussion in every topic. I dont care what team is better on the ice and my opinion on that was Im sure posted elsewhere, lets just keep it to the title like Shudo is saying. Financial states of the team's not "The Bous ego marathon", or "Bitter Cats fans shenanigans"... And I dont mean to offend or highlight anyone with those examples, just saying.

And yes, GO SENIOR HOCKEY GO.
Lets hope every team is doing well, or can atleast survive till the pot is filled again.

Royals are fine. Ross paid off all of Wally's debts before he took over, on top of the money he pumped into it. Expect to see the Royals organization revamp this whole thing from top to bottom. New ideas will be put forth. Ross is trying to get the community behind this team and I think he will be able to do it, lets wait and see.

Also I hear the Royals 50/50 is really 70/30, royals need to clean up this mess.

Better and worse then I mentioned. I was strongly believing the 50/50 was unfair, which would account for a decent crowd not attracting a large payout.

Great though to hear that Ross is taking big steps towards a stable financial situation. I guess you could say that he has "cleared the slate" for next season.

The best think that can ever happen is the Bous lose this final. Hopefully then it would give a reality check to their fans and some of their management. Another thing is they are lucky to be sitting next to the money tree on the eastcoast namely oil. While the rest of the West struggle to raise funds it is easy to get funds when you are on the doorstep of the oil boom. The Cats will survive we always did.

things are great out in bous land.. very much in the black this year.. even before the finals

That good to hear, I have also heard that next season look out for the bous cause we are going to have another awesome team and even though this is not over yet, It should be exciting

Guys, how did this ever turn into a pi$$ing match again. The thread was started to discuss the financial state of the teams. A couple of person who are in the know for the bous respond.... And this becomes a Bous fans are cocky" Thread.

I admit, I am a Clarenville Caribous fan, and while we are doing well, I think we have the right to enjoy it. I am not naive enough to think that this will last for ever as I realize that success comes in cycles, so while we are the best I will unbashfully enjoy it to the fullest. I do think I cheer for the best team in the west, with the cats at a very close second and until some team prove other wise, I will continue to think so. Call me cocky but that's the way it is.

GO BOUS GO !!!!!!!!

As for the thread.....I agree with Newfie35n....... I hope all teams do well financially. I don't think we realize what something like senoir hockey does for the moral of these towns, and even the province. I know here in clarenville, espicially during the herder last year, there were very few people that you couldn't talk about the hockey to. People who you wouldn't normally talk to would come and have a chat just because they saw you at the game the night before. The morale of the town was at an all time high. It gives everybody, old or young.....rich or poor.....black or white.......Jew or Gentile.......a common ground. And I'm sure the same happened when the Royals and Redwings do well, and I bet the same atmosphere is in Grandfalls with their present success today.

I think we should work more together as a league to ensure the financial and on ice success continues for all teams ensuring that every team follows the cycle of success, for the good of our Leagues (East and West), hence for the good of our province. (Sorry for going on an emotional Tangent :) )

And that is exacty why this thread was started....to have a discussion about the rumors that are flying around, because this is exactly what most things you hear are.....rumours. And most people don't know a whole lot about the other teams........

I agree its great seeing Clarenville do well on the ice and at the gate, it speaks volumes for the organization and it will continue for some time. The same group was able to do the same when they had a team in the St Johns Junior league some years ago, but not for long. They were smart to hire Randy and get some of the better players from the St Johns area on board. I believe they have a good arrangement with the new CEC center which also saves them a lot of dollars, that may change.
They will have to enjoy the moment because like an earlier poster said it goes in cycles.
They need to win this year and what about the trip to the Allan cup, that won't be cheap.
