TYPICAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Instead of you guys walking around with your chests stuck out and expecting everyone to roll out the red carpet upon your arrival, you should be ashamed of the fact that you could allow this to happen by not ensuring that your very best officials are on the ice!!!!

I know people would believe it to be extreme, but I think that when the time comes that a Provincial League to be formed, ties should be cut with HNL. Recruit the best officials and pay them what they deserve!!! Put in a structure that can have sustainability foremost. And take control of the enforcing of all rules. After all what BENEFITS does HNL provide to senior hockey?? They take the registration money, avoid all issues that may make them look bad or where they would have to make a tough decision, come out of the woodwork to enforce their power whenever it suits THEIR interests and take a big chunk of the Herder pie!!! They dont invest into senior hockey and at the highest levels they are quick to downgrade and criticize senior hockey - so once again I ask........What benefit does senior hockey receive from HNL???

Great job guys..........keep up the good work!!!! :)

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CATS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Just when I thought you had a clue your ignorance smacked me in the mouth! HNL is an arm of Hockey Canada, you know - the GOVERNING BODY OF ALL amateur hockey in Canada!! No HNL, no insurance, no officials. Like it or not Roo, HNL is here to stay. By the way, take your own advice and stop whining about officiating. Mr. Ref missed an obvious interference call on the Bous blueline on Philpott's goal too. SHIQ happens, get over it and enjoy your win tonight! See you again at the CEC tomorrow!
is that saying the bous will give the game tonight just so they can take on home ice?? I certainly hope they dont take that chance and if they do... LETS GO CATS show them you can do it away!

Because if you are then I disagree completely!!! :) Do you have insurance?? I do. And Im sure that an independent league would be able to work out that detail. Why dont you point out some of the positive things that HNL does for senior hockey?

:? surely u could not have been at the game last night...I was....and in the 1st period the ref made calls against the Bous that in all sense was a joke  and as for the ref winning the game for the Bous....NOT....determination won the game for the Bous....do not count us out. Overall I thought the game was played equally on both sides....and yes I did see the water bottle throwing.....very sad.

By the way the insurance that HNL provides. Do you know how they pay for it?? Im not suggesting that HNL is not here to stay, but they should be held more accountable IMO. And a provincial league would have to consider what they get from HNL?? Just an obvious consideration. Because Im still waiting, and Im sure I'll be waiting for some time for someone to give me a LEGITIMATE benefit that HNL provides to senior hockey in this province.

Being an East supporter I will say it again, Chili sucks and wants to be the star of the show. In case he didn't realize it he blew a great game of hockey last night. Most refs would have put their whistle away last night in the last two minutes of the game and let the two teams decided the outcome, unless there was a very blatant call such as player being cut with a high stick or player hauled down on a breakaway. Both calls in the last minute were certainly marginal. I'm sure if the situation was reversed last night and had happened to the Bous players as it did to the Cats players then the Bou fans would have shut down the site today with their complaints, and rightly so, just as the Cats fans are screaming today. Chili should NOT be refereeing any senior games at all. He has ruined the East League and now he is making his mark on the West League. As he was dumped by the Cee Bee team he has a grudge against any of their players regardless of where they play. Maybe Randy Pearcey will invite him to his hockey school so he can brush up on his hockey skills as he certainly does not have any ref skills. May the best team win the West and I hope if there is one game or two games left then I pray that the ref let the players decide the outcome.

HockeyGooRoo wrote:First off – A suggestion for Bous fans.............Your team just won a huge Game 5 (Congrats).......Why not focus on THAT instead of turning your wrath on the Cats and their fans!!!! TYPICAL!!!! No wonder theres an ever-growing anti-Caribou sediment amongst hockey fans!!!!

The game was a real nail-biter for sure!!! Both teams played hard! I will not say that the Bous were undeserving of the win because they played with emotion and kept coming til the end. They have a good team there and they played a good game!!! But I will say that the Cats were ROBBED!!!! Due to the fact that the ref decided to take matters into his own hands in the last couple of minutes of the 3rd and therefore played a BIG part in the outcome IMO. This is exactly what most GOOD officials try to avoid. LET THE TEAMS DECIDE THE GAME!!!!

The penalties were already lopsided at that point, but hey Im not going to go there!! Then the call with 1:30 left was marginal at best and definitely wasn’t blatant or definitely didn’t interrupt a scoring chance. But hey, I guess I can suck that one up too!!! The worst was yet to come. With just under a minute left and the Cats killing the penalty, Lapointe is battling in front of Jewer (away from the play) and gives the guy a shot (like you see in front of the net thousands of times when a team is short) toot goes the whistle and he puts them down 5 on 3!!! Then with the goalie pulled its 6 on 3!!!

ID LOVE TO SEE THE BOUS FANS REACTION TO THIS SITUATION IF THE TABLES WERE TURNED!!!!!!! I’LL JUST LEAVE THAT ONE FOR THE IMAGINATION!!! :)

For the guy who said fans have “serious issues” if they don’t think those penalties should have been called, then I guess you can add me to that list – YOUR list. Because I would suggest that your hockey knowledge is lacking in the traditional sense if you think that those calls SHOULD have been made. I tell you what.........the next time you see a one-goal game with under two minute to go and the ref calls two penalties back to back to put a team down 5 on 3 PM me and I’ll send you a 20 spot in the mail!!!! Ask the players what they think of this situation and they’ll tell you that THE TEAMS SHOULD DECIDE!!

And for the people suggesting that the “leagues” should know better than to have this ref out there in such a big game then I say this. It is not the leagues that dictate who will ref games, that decision lies solely with HNL!! And here’s HNL once again showing their LACK OF RESPECT for senior hockey by putting this guy out there for this big game. You see....... HNL looks at these kinds of games as an OPPORTUNITY to evaluate some of their up and coming officials, when they should be OBLIGATED putting THE BEST POSSIBLE OFFICIALS ON THE ICE!!!! GUESS WHAT HNL – YOUR THINKING IS BACKWARDS – SURPRISE SURPRISE!!!

Then the real eye-opener for me is to come on here and read post from fans of the east coast league that this guy is KNOWN to be brutal!!!! So the burning question is WHY DID HNL DECIDE TO GIVE HIM THIS HUGE GAME?????

And last I have to address the glass breaking situation. Catch22 acts like nobody in the history of Clarenville has done anything over the line when it comes to referees........LOLOLOLOL!!!! :)) And then to say that the Cats fans BROKE the glass is hilarious!! Remind me not to get into a scrap with the guy that has his knuckle cut after breaking the glass!!!! :) This is PLEXI glass were talking about here, not plate glass. It is designed to withstand 100mph shots and big men hurling themselves and others into it. So to let you in on a little secret it occasionally gets banged and shook!!!!! But how often to you see it break? I would suggest that there must be some fault with the glass that broke for it to break so easily and it was just a FLUKE occurrence. And IMAGINE fans actually banging on the glass when a fight is taking place right in front of them – NEVER SAW THAT BEFORE!!!! Lololololol!!!! :))

As for the throwing water bottles.........I didnt see it, but I agree theres no place for it, but hey I can tell you that I can UNDERSTAND their frustration in this situation!! Its too bad all the fans aren’t SAINTS like those Bous fans – we’d all be alot better off!!!! :)

This series is going 7 ladies and gentlemen.............see you back in the CEC Sunday night!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO CATS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! :)
Then with the goalie pulled its 6 on 3!!! What kind of math is this? When Caribous goalie was pulled, it was 6 - 4, not 6 - 3. The Cats' goalie is one of their better players! What an insult to count him as "countless"!

Give the game to the Cats!!! Do you think that I'm a deluded mental patient? I meant no such thing. I have said and continue to say, 7 games and flip a coin - these are 2 great teams. The Bous would gladly take a win tonight - IF they can get one!

You miss my point. I'm not disagreeing with your point about the value or lack thereof of HNL. I'm saying you can't get rid of it. Amateur hockey in Canada is run by Hockey Canada, HNL is the NL arm of Hockey Canada. Like it or not, we're stuck with HNL. Who else will insure players and leagues? Who else will certify officials?
