First of all I hope Mr. Salvis has a full & speedy recovery. Things could certainly have turned out much worse on that play. I think the league finally got something right with the suspension on Short but IMO it should have been for remainder of the season.
What we witnessed is fallout from the new style of game. Fast past, little hitting, & no accountability for actions. Short got beat on the play & made a bad decision going full speed that could have resulted in even more serious injuries. Short and a few other guys in the league don't mind taking liberties because the know they are untouchable. Maybe the suspension will cause these player that play with an edge to reign in their emotions & control themselves for the safety of their opponents.

Hey Super, I've been here all year, just haven't been posting much. As you know I'm a diehard Cats fan, but I could never condone this kind of thing. It's very unfortunate but as a player, you have to respect your opponent & regard his safety as well as your own. The speed of this hockey is sick. Therefore you have always the potential for injury. That last push was uncalled for & affected the impact upon which Salvis hit the boards.
