Heard today that after Friday's game in GF-W, O'Brien was supposed to get a 2-game suspension for sucker punching Brennan. Also heard that Graham got 2 games for 3rd man in(even though Brennan didn't drop his gloves or throw a punch). Also heard that Hockey NL overturned the O'Brien suspension. Surprise,Surprise! Don't really know if this is fact but it wouldn't surprise me one bit!

According to the referee, there wasn't as much as a roughing call given to O'Brien on the play. Graham however was considered the third man in by the referee and thus given the standard suspension associated with such a penalty. Have you heard of a play all season where the league suspended someone on a non-penalized play that took place on the ice?
The Ceebees were the better team in the best of 7 series and are now playing for the Herder, that is fact! As much as Blades stirs the pot on here, even he was a good enough sport to give the Ceebees the credit they deserve!

If this is correct, how does Graham get 3rd man in penalty?noordinaryjoe wrote:According to the referee, there wasn't as much as a roughing call given to O'Brien on the play. As for the third man in; I can't say that it was a great call but according to the game sheet, the referee deemed Graham the third man in and thats where the suspension came from.

It is possible for one player to be issued a fighting major while the other player gets nothing. If a player tries to enter the fight or acts as a peacemaker, then they are consider the 3rd man in.

This is hockeytalk. Just trying to get clarification. As far as I saw, it was only a wrestling match and no one deserved a suspension. Not going to change the outcome but I am just pissed 'cause it seems like everytime Hockey NL is involved, The Cats get the $hitty end of the stick!
