With the World Under-17 Hockey Championship underway, a local Newfoundland hockey player has helped Team Atlantic to a 4-3 decision over Germany. St. John’s own Nathan Noel, a rookie in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Saint John Sea Dogs chipped in an assist on a shorthanded goal in the first period and added a goal in the second period.
Noel has collected three points so far in the tournament, witha goal and two assists.
Two other Newfoundlanders are on the Team Atlantic squad – Adam Holwell of St. John’s who plays for Moncton of the QMJHL and Adrew Pico of Marystown who calls Rimouski of the QMJHL his home squad.
