Nathan Ellsworth was a one man force as he led the Gros Morn Academy Panthers to two big wins this weekend.

With two impressive wins in the West Coast High School Hockey League, the Gros Morne Academy Panthers moved into first place, improving their record to 6-3 in the season.

The Panthers took a pair of games from the Saint James Saints of Port Aux Basques on Sunday at the Gros Morn Arena in Rocky Harbour.

In the first game, the Panthers cruised to an 11-4 victory.

Nathan Ellsworth had a massive game with four goals and one assist. Shannon Moores pitched in with two goals and two assists and Luke Parsons contributed with two unassisted goals and a pair of assists in the victory. Singles were added by Brandon Welsh, Robert Gill and Mateo Gill.

The Saints got their offense from Tristan Butt who had two goals, while Andrew Pike and Nelson King contributed singles.

Game two saw the Panthers continue its dominance, shutting out the Saints 6-0. Cody Brown recorded the shutout. Nathan Ellsworth continued his scoring streak, contributing two goals and two assists. Luke Parsons and Jeffrey Anderson contributed singles for the Panthers.
