Hockey Canada Appeal Denied

Newfoundland Hockey Talk has learned that the appeal made by the East Coast Senior Hockey League to Hockey Canada has been denied, throwing the future of the ECSHL up in the air.

Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador would not sanction the league to operate this season after the league refused to allow the CeeBees to join. The league appealed this decision to Hockey Canada.

Today, the league was notified that the appeal was denied. League officials are meeting tonight to determine its future.

Some scenarios that have been suggested by sources close to the governing bodies include the CeeBee Stars & Clarinville Caribous returning to the Central West Senior Hockey League to join Gander and Grand Falls-Windsor, leaving four teams in the ECSHL. Another scenario has the CeeBee Stars joining the ECSHL with interlocking play with the Central West League.

As we learn more details, Newfoundland Hockey Talk will give you updates.
