Cataracts Roll Over Flyers

After hanging on for the win in Saturday’s match-up, the Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts rolled over the Gander Flyers on Sunday afternoon.

The Cataracts jumped out to a quick 2 goal lead on goals by Michael Brent.  Josh day responded for the Flyers who walked into the dressing room down 2-1 after the first period.

Michael Brent picked up his hat trick in the second period, scoring at 5:55 on the power play to make the score 3-1.

  Andre Gill added a goal at the midway mark of the period to make the score 4-1 after two periods.  Cam Fergus added the Cataracts fifth goal at in the third period as the Grand Falls-Windsor squad cruised to a 5-1 victory.

Michael Brent was the big scorer for the Cataracts, picking up his hat trick.  Josh Day had the lone marker for the Flyers.

AJ Whiffen picked up the win for the Cataracts and Patty O’Brien was tagged with the loss after allowing 4 goals on just 22 shots.  He was replaced by Roger Kennedy who allowed just 1 goal on 15 shots.
