Sullivan Lifts Caribous over Cataracts

The Clarenville Caribous Dale Sullivan has a four point night helping the Clarenville Caribous hang on to first place in the Central West Newfoundland Hockey League.

In the first period, Sullivan scored at just the 1:40 mark on a goal assisted by Chad Earle and league leading scorer Andrew Sweetland making it 1-0.  Just 3 minutes later, Sullivan scored his second of the night on a nice goal setup by Sullivan, making it 2-0.  The Cataracts Cam Fergus responded to bring the Cats to within a goal, before the Caribous Chad Earle scored on a goal assisted by Sullivan, making it 3-1 after the first period.

After a scoreless second period, the Cataracts drew within a single goal when Rodi Short scored early in the third period, making it 3-2 Caribous.  The Caribous Ryan Desrosiers and Ryan Graham scored to make it 5-2.

  Michael Brent of the Cataracts made it 5-3 before Adrew Sweetland put the game out of reach, putting the Bous up 6-3.

Sullivan’s four point night (2G, 2A) was best for the Caribous while Cam Fergus of the Cataracts picked up a 3 points with a goal and 2 assists.

Jason Churchill picked up the win over AJ Whiffen.  Churchill faced 32 shots.  Whiffin faced just 16 shots, allowing 6 goals.
