Royals Sweep Caribous

The Corner Brook Royals made it four games in a row as they swept the Clarenville Caribous in recent Central West Newfoundland Senior Hockey League action this weekend, defeating the Caribous by a score of 7-6 on Sunday.

Phil Mangan and Hunter Tremblay both scored two goals each while Derek Martin, Rodney Mahoney and Michael Hynes added singles in the win.  The Caribous had goals from Ryan Delaney, Mitch Oake, Keith Delaney, Chad Earle, Ryan Derosiers and David Victor.

In sweeping the Caribous, the Royals went up three points on the Caribous and just 1 point ahead of the Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts.  The Royals now sit in first place with 14 points and a record of 7-3.

Other weekend action saw the Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts dump the Gander Flyers by a score of 8-2 in Sunday’s action.  Colin Circelli and Justin Barbour scored twice for the Cataracts.  Andrew Gill, Chris Sparkes and Cam Fergus chipped in with Singles.

  Sean Wadden and Steve Brazil scored for the Flyers.

Cam Fergus moved into the top of the scoring race with 16 points (9G, 7A).  Teammate Collin Circelli sits in fourth place in scoring with 13 points (4G, 9A).

League action resumes next weekend.
