St. John’s getting a QMJHL Franchise?
Is St. John’s Getting QMJHL? There are many rumours going around that...
The Toronto Maple Leafs Jason Spezza has said that he doesn’t want to forget last season. Instead, he wants to use it as motivation for the upcoming season & says that keeping the loss to the Canadiens in the back of his mind will become a motivating factor for the team.
“I want to learn from all of it”, he said, when asked about the first round loss to the Montreal Canadiens in the 2020-21 Stanley Cup Playoffs. “The loss that we suffered stung, it hurt, it was brutal and it left us all shaking our heads.”
Spezza says the team is very aware that it loss after having a 3-1 lead. It something that as a group, the Leafs have to learn from the pain and it will be important to the group as a motivator.
Earlier this year, Spezza inked a 1-year deal with the Leafs and will continue to play a veteran role for the team. Last season the veteran tallied 10 goals and 20 assists for 30 points, adding another 3 goals and 2 assists in the playoffs.
The question remains however, will the loss to the Habs be a motivator for the Leafs and will they be able to shake the monkey off their backs after failing once again to move past the first round in the playoffs.
