The Northeast Eagles moved into first place on Friday night with an 8-2 win over the Southern Shore Breakers.
The Eagles jumped out to a quick lead after Stephen Morrissey scored to make it 1-0 at the 5:05 mark. James Cadigan then scored on the power play to make it 2-0. The Breakers responded less than two minutes later when Andrew Gale scored on the Breakers own power play, bringing the score to 2-1 at that point. The Eagles sealed the game when Mason Reid and Chris Mooney each scored, making it 4-1 after the first period.
The second period saw much of the same as the Eagles continued to dominate. Morrissey, Mooney and Cadigan each added their second goals of the night. Mike Chafe scored the Breakers second goal but the score was 7-2 after 2 period of play.
